Founded in 2021 and named after the world's most treasured spice, Saffron brings the rich flavours, warm hospitality and timeless traditions of India to three Rocky Mountain destinations — downtown Banff, downtown Canmore, and Lake Louise Village.

The Beginning

Bringing India to the Rockies

Saffron began in 2021 with a simple dream: to share the rich flavours, warm hospitality and timeless traditions of India in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. What started as a single restaurant has grown into a family of destinations serving guests across Banff, Canmore, Calgary and Lake Louise, in proud partnership with Peacock Indian Bar & Grill.

Every kitchen reflects the same passion for authentic Indian cuisine, crafted with handpicked spices and recipes passed down through generations. In Canmore, our Biryani & Chaat House is built around aromatic dum biryanis, street-style chaats and Indo-Chinese specialities. In Banff, our Wolf Street bistro is known for traditional thalis, sizzling tandoori platters and curries made from scratch daily. In Lake Louise, we serve North and South Indian favourites with a generous range of vegetarian and vegan options.

Whether you are a local, here for the season, or exploring the mountains for the first time, every Saffron location welcomes you for dine-in, takeout, online ordering and catering — with dishes cooked fresh to order, seven days a week.
